USDA Summer Food Service Program Extended
ALL Students who are learning in person or virtually in the Sumner County School District may receive free breakfast and lunch. The USDA has extended its Summer Food Service Program through December 31st or until the federal funding runs out. Through this program, our school cafeterias will be providing free breakfast and lunch to all SCS students, starting Thursday, September 3, 2020.
The USDA Summer Food program is designed to provide families with no cost meals during the COVID-19 epidemic. Students and parents do not need to take any action to enroll in the program to receive free meals. The free meal program will continue until further notice for all SCS students.
All current balances or credits to SCS meal accounts will remain active in students’ accounts and students will not be charged for meal purchases until the Summer Food Service Program Extension has ended.
Individual items, such as cookies, chips and slushies, will still be available for students to purchase.
